/> N-Acetyl-Tyrosine, Citicoline, Phenylethylamine (PEA), Caffeine Malate, DMAE, Bacopa monniri, Rhodiola Rosea, Picamilon, GeranatimTM (1,3-dimethylamylamine), Yohimbine HCl , and Vitamin B-6. Recommended use, as an adult dietary supplement: take 3 SWAGG-Caps once daily, preferably with food. Swagger normally retails in the $30-$33 range for a bottle.

In personal testing of Swagger, I mostly would take it roughly an hour before work, on an empty stomach, and sometimes with food. I know your supposed to take it with food, but sometimes the morning is such a rush, that you forget in getting ready, and running out the door. A few times I took it before going out on the town. I went through 1 entire bottle, and used it nearly every day.

I found the confidence boosting properties of Swagger to be very good. Especially when taken before going into social or work settings that would normally make me a bit anxious or nervous. This was especially true in reducing what’s termed “approach anxiety” in some circles of opening up a conversation with an attractive member of the opposite sex. The focus properties were not spectacular, but present. The effect usually wore off after a couple of hours, and wasn’t nearly as strong as some other focus specific products that have been reviewed previously.

What really didn’t impress me at all, were the energy and mood enhancement properties. The energy may have been comparable to a cup of coffee or two at most, and over a slightly longer period than the normal coffee “liftoff and crash.” Let’s just say they wont be scaring App Nut’s Black Cats in the energy department anytime soon. Swagger’s mood enhancement properties were possibly present, but not super noticeable. Some products, like Happy Pills give a very present, and noticeable boost, that puts you on a veritable Cloud 9. Your mileage may vary, but I don’t see it happening here.

Nightlife’s Verdict:2.5 stars (out of 5)
Swagger’s tag line is confidence, concentration, and energy. 1.5 out of 3 ain’t bad, but it ain’t great either. If your looking for a replacement for your morning Joe, Ritalin to help you focus, or your Prozac to make you feel better, this isn’t your product. If your looking for a pure confidence booster, Swagger may just be your ticket.

Related posts:

<a

You can follow the below, no matter that kinda night you’ve had. Swear!

Let’s say, it’s a Friday night, and you like to be out from the hours of 10pm to 2am:

9:15-9:30 Take an energy/mood/social supplement. (I suggest Vegas Nites.)
1:50-2:15 Take your hangover prevention of choice. (I suggest No Hang, or T.H.C.)

See! Wasn’t that easy? Just take some before, and some after, and your covered. I personally suggest drinking water, or a sports beverage with you hangover preventer of choice, just for the extra insurance.

I personally promise, trying the above will open your eyes to a new facet of nightlife experiences. Give it a shot, and leave a comment, on your experiences!

Related posts:

<a

That wisdom is no less relevant today. In fact, it may be more important than ever. Now this isn’t some voodoo “The Secret” type of B.S. Don’t expect to be able to “manifest parking spaces,” or other things as some yahoos I’ve heard have claimed.

However, thoughts are things. Every great invention, innovation, or concept, was an idea or vision long before it came to fruition. You achieve that for which you aim. If your thoughts center on your personal inadequacies, your lack of opportunity, or resources, those thoughts will come to pass. If instead you focus your thoughts on opportunities, and what can be done, the doors of possibility will be opened to you.

***A short aside: I encountered mental resistance while writing this. The thoughts of “you’ve not ready to write something this important, or possibly impacting. You still struggle with this issue. Who are YOU to try to help people focus their thoughts on such things? Your not qualified to write this.“ Yet I press on, that I may put what I’ve learned here for those who will read this.***

Getting Started:

1. Grab a sheet of paper and a pen, and go to a place of solitude. You’re about to to do some mental heavy lifting, and a place where you can be alone with your thoughts, and truly honest with yourself, is the best way. Tune out all distractions, and turn up some music if this helps you. (I personally do my best work with some Led Zeppelin, Metallica, or Godsmack blasting through my Koss headphones.)

2. On the sheet of paper, write out the negative things people have said about you over your lifetime, and the negative things you say about yourself. Give yourself at LEAST 30 minutes for this. Don’t be afraid to put anything down, especially the most hurtful ones.

3. Look over the list, and rank the negative beliefs from the most hurtful and damaging to being who you want to be, to the least. Then take the top ten most influencing thoughts or beliefs, and rewrite them as a positive on a 3×5 card. For example, instead of the limiting belief of “I don’t have the money or experience to be successful,” write “I have all the resources needed to be successful. I am sufficent.”

4. Take the 3×5 card, and put it in your wallet, purse, dashboard, cubicle, or bathroom mirror. It may behoove you to have several copies, so you can repeat them to yourself, wherever, and whenever negative thoughts strike.

5. On a daily basis, for at least 30 days straight, look yourself in the mirror, and repeat these awesome statements to yourself. In the morning, and before bed are the best times. Yes, it may seem a bit silly at first. That’s ok. Shut the bathroom door, and crank up some music if need be, if your spouse or whomever may not understand. Feel free to get loud, and passionate.

6. After the 30 days, evaluate your thought patterns, and your progress. You WILL see changes in the first 30 days, so write them down, and compare them to what you thought before. You started, and enjoy the progress you have made.

7. Repeat the process of steps 1-6 with any specific issues that seem to crop up, or you feel like you’ve plateaued, or have hit a wall. This will help to keep your sights set ever higher, and you moving forward as a person.

Originator says about the process:
“Over time, you will start to notice your core beliefs change, it is a subtle shift in the subconscious response, but may be an overnight shift in conscious thinking, as you are made aware of plenty of negative loops you are running. It will be amazing to see your autopilot responses shifting towards the suggestions contained within. You will be like, “where did that come from, I just really asserted my self in that situation.”

Honestly, 30 days is not enough, but also too, a constant guarding of your mind from external influences is mandatory. You use the affirmations as often as possible to force your thoughts and dreams to a place YOU want to move towards. This is a life long process, not a one time fix. “

How do you conquer your doubts, and negative thoughts?

What do you focus on in tough times, or say to yourself to keep your self positive?

Related posts:

Your personal level of leadership affects everything you do in life. Your job, your friends, your ability to get things done. It has been said that “everything rises and falls on leadership,” including nations, and institutions. I have found this to be true. Here a few ideas on how improving your personal leadership level can positively influence your nightlife experience.

Put simply: what IS leadership? There are a ton of definitons of the term, including “getting people to do something you want them to do, and getting them it like it.” John Maxwell defines it as “Influence” plain and simple. I personally couldn’t agree more. Your ability to influence those you come in contact around you, makes things a lot easier, and can help with putting together birthday parties, charity events, and even getting that certain someone on a second date.

There are 5 levels of leadership according to leadership guru John Maxwell. These levels are:
1.Position. (govt and corps start here)
2.Permission (social influence starts here)
3.Production
4.People Development
5.Personhood

For most nightlife related activities, levels 1-3 apply. Level 1 comes into play where your the “official” chair, or head of some charity or organization. At level 1, people follow you basically because they have to, and will not follow you beyond what official authority you have been given. This is the “because I say so” level.

Level 2, is where you lead others with their permission. People follow you because they want to. This is much easier than level one. Most of all the nightlife leadership related activities fall under this status. This is where you can put together meet ups, invite people to a venue, and plan events, that people you know or invite will actually attend. These people know you, and choose to attend because you personally invited them, or several of their friends. This is the “I’m going because I want to, and the planner is a friend” level.

Level 3 comes into play when word of your events of parties has spread to people who have not personally met you, but have heard of what you have done. They know you put together, or have a finger on the pulse of what’s going on, and invite people into an awesome time.

Qualities of leaders and nightlife takeaway

1. Leaders go first.
Leaders are always trying new things, and new places. They are the true early adopters. They always seem to know of that cool new place, or hotspot before everyone else. In fact, they often have already visited, and know many of the staff and promoters before you’ve even heard of it. So, don’t be afraid to try a new spot that’s just opened and trying to build a following, or a quirky out of the way bar. Letting all your social circle know about “this cool place I just found, that you just have to join me at next week,” is a great spot to be in.

2. Leaders are focused.
Leaders focus their efforts. This goes in a bit of the “try a ton of places, and see what works” advice in the above point. Leaders follow the Pareto principle that states that 80% of all results come from 20% of activities. So, find the venues, and events to provide the most punch, and fun for most events and stick with them. There’s a need to do new things, and no need to reinvent the wheel. A friend of mine throws a HUGE Mardi Gras party at her house every year. There’s always stories, and a great time from each party. She doesn’t try to completely reinvent the party every year. It’s well attended because everyone knows it will be a great time, great food, and a big group of fun people. Dloing something similar in your social circle will be a great move.

3. Leaders are change agents.
By being early adopters, leaders go first. This stance is not easy..as many resist change. The refrain of “why should we do X when Y works already?” is one any leader is familiar with. The requires dedication, on the part of any leader. The leaders best bet, to allow for change, it do draw people to themselves. People buy in to a leader, before they buy into the vision. If people know you, and associate you with knowing where to go and what to do, and you actually are their friend, they will buy into new ideas much easier. This personal touch can not be substituted.

Leave a comment. What are your tips for leadership?

Related posts:

The following tips for personal hygiene will keep you fresh, clean, neat, and fancy free. Follow these tips, as they are important for personal and professional results. You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

Teeth:

1. Brush at least once daily.
Brushing daily prevents the buildup of plaque. Plaque is a film of bacteria on your teeth and gums.
The buildup of plaque leads to tooth decay. Non-removed plaque can harden into tartar. Plaque also irritates the gums, and can lead to gum disease. Gum disease is a leading cause of tooth loss in adults.

2. Floss daily.
Cleaning between the teeth with floss, covers the area your toothbrush cant reach. Flossing is important in prevention of the aforementioned gum disease.

3. Visit the dentist regularly.
Your dentist, can check on your oral hygiene techniques, to make sure you’re doing them correctly, prevent and fill cavities, whiten your teeth and more. Don’t be a stranger to the dentist. Yes, we all have nightmares about dental drills, but don’t let that stop you.

4. Whiten your teeth.
There are a lot of options for this now, so there is no real excuse for not doing this. Whitening toothpaste doesn’t do much, so don’t expect a lot. There are tons of whitening strips out there, which do a fair job. The only real way to get this done right is to go to the dentist, and have them do it. If may cost a pretty penny, but you get what you pay for.

5. Use mints or gum to have fresh breath.
One of the easiest ways to reduce plaque causing bacteria is to chew gum with xylitol. Plus, it gives you great breath. Let’s face it, with dragon breath, your not getting the kiss. Plan ahead and grab some xylitol gum.

Body:

1. Shower daily.
Consider this a requirement rather than a suggestion. It doesn’t matter if your European, this is still necessary. The Irish shower, won’t cut it. Just do it.

2. Use deodorant/antiperspirant.
This is also a necessity. Use as natural product as possible. Some products can cause lymph gland blockage, in the prevention of sweat. That’s not an excuse not to use it however. There is never an excuse for unchecked body odor, unless you are actually in the gym, or exercising. Proper use of these products will keep people from clearing a 10 foot radius around you, or wearing gas masks.

3. Keep eyebrow/ear/nose hair trimmed.
This one is broken way too often. I’m looking at YOU Peter Gallagher! Trim those eyebrows yesterday!
It seems as people get older, the more hair creeps into the nose, and ears. Don’t fall victim to this one, unless you don’t mind being the “guy with the furry ears.” Get a beard/mustache trimmer to keep this in check. In fact they make nose trimmer specifically for this task. Get one. Use it.

4. Get regular haircuts.
Being shaggy works great if your a cartoon character, and not so well for everyone else. This keeps a sharp and professional appearance. Aim for a cut every 3-4 weeks.

5. Use a great cologne or perfume.
Many people are remembered for a signature scent. Have at least 2 or 3 scents you can rotate for different occasions. Use a lighter, fresh scent, for more causal purposes, and a heavier, more formal scent for serious affairs.

Stay Tuned for part II!

Please leave a comment. data-count="vertical">Tweet

Guys come in a lot of shapes and sizes. There are different rules for dressing well, depending on on your shape and size. The following are a few tips, that will help guys to look their most dashing.

Heavy Guys:

1. NO horizontal lines or patterns.
This will only increase the illusion of your bulk. Go with solids or vertical stripes. Dressing in all black may make others wonder is your doing a Johnny Cash impression, or going to a funeral. Ignore them. All black is the best weapon color wise for big guys.

2. Buy clothes that fit.
A LOT of big guys wear clothes that are even bigger. That XXL isint doing anything but make you look bigger, and isn’t fooling anyone anyways. On the other end of things, clothes that are too small will make you look like an overstuffed sausage. NOT a good idea. Find items that are flattering, and fit you well.

3. Lay off the Hawaiian shirts..unless you’re Gabriel Iglesias.
Shirts with large prints will draw attention to your upper body, which is not good if your packing a keg instead of a six pack. Gabriel Iglesias can do this because 1. He’s a comedian, and it’s part of his shtick, 2. He’s famous. Unless you anywhere near as funny as him, avoid this blunder at all costs. If you haven’t seen Gabriel’s stand up, search for his videos TODAY.

4. Avoid double breasted suits.
These will most likely just add to the bulk in the torso region. A very well cut one can help, but most don’t. Tread lightly in this area, and if in doubt, go with a dark, pinstriped single breasted suit, with a single vent. Double vents can emphasize outsized posterior regions. Also, try using pocket squares, to add a dash of color.

5. Wear v necks often, and NO turtlenecks.
A v-neck t- shirt or sweater will draw the eye downward, and balance out your face. A turtleneck will just make you look like a turtle. On dress shirts, try a spread collar with a Windsor or double Windsor knotted tie. It’s all about proportion and balance. A spread collar and thick tie, will balance out a thicker face, and draw the eye downward.

Athletic:

1. Wear tapered shirts.
If your chest is decently bigger than your waist, most normally cut shirts will drive you bananas. All the extra cloth at the waistline, will just bunch up. Buy shirt that account for your v-taper. For dress shirts, custom made shirts are becoming more affordable, and will show all all the gym time you’ve put in. I personally suggest J. Hilburn, and have bought from them.

2. Choose relaxed fit, or bootleg jeans.
Relaxed fit jeans will often provide more room in the thigh, and seat, to accommodate all those sets on the squat rack, and lunges. I LOVE my Lucky 181′s in this category. Avoid skinny jeans, as they will under emphasize your legs, and make you look like a flamingo.

3. Buy clothes that fit.
This should go without saying. However, most well built guys but clothes that are too big, just to have more freedom, and comfort. This isn’t the best solution. A shirt big enough to accommodate your guns or quads, will hang loose everywhere else. Shop around until you find a few brands that are cut for athletic guys. Jackets will likely need to be taken in at the sides, so leave room in your budget for tailoring.

Short:

1. Try vertical stripes.
A vertical stripe will help emphasize the height you do have. Choose suits with a pinstripe pattern that is rather thin. Big stripes are a no no.

2. No baggy, cuffed, or pleated pants.
Fitted, straight leg pants and jeans, will emphasize the vertical, and create straight lines that give the illusion of more height. Pleats and cuffs will break these lines, so avoid them. Choose your jeans with low a rise as possible. It’s all about lines and proportion. The low rise will improve your proportions.

3. Wear shoes with a thick sole or heel.
Guy’s options are a bit limited when it comes to height enhancing foot wear. Boots are often the best option, without getting in to specialized footwear. Moto boots, and cowboy boots have thick soles, and are great for adding a bit to your stature. Choose dress shoes with thick soles also.

4. Improve your posture.
This isn’t really a pure fashion tip per se, but will help regardless of what your wearing. Standing up straight will approve your overall appearance, and your perceived confidence. Try the Alexander Technique, as it’s results are well based. There are videos available, if you search.

Skinny:

1. Add layers to increase the appearance of mass.
Layering with t-shirts, sweaters, and jackets, adds a bit to your torso, which is a good thing. Experiment as your climate allows.

2. Horizontal stripes and colors will help
A horizontal stripe will make you appear wider, and emphasize your shoulders. Avoid a single color, which will make you look even skinnier. Try different colors for pants and shirts, to give a break in the middle. Also avoid all dark colors. Try patterns, such as plaids and bright colors in fitted shirts.

3. Don’t wear baggy clothes.
Wearing a large when your a small, won’t help, or fool anyone. Wear clothes that fit, and are cut to emphasize the muscle you do have. Make sure your jackets are the right length, just under your bum. Too long, and you will look like a kid playing dress up.

4. Wear straight leg, or bootcut jeans.
The cuts will help balance you out, and minimize the beanpole look. Avoid at all costs the hipster skinny jeans. This is a bad fashion statement, regardless of who you are. Doubly so for tall and skinny guys. Do choose dark denim. This is a hard and fast rule, no matter what your body type.

Please leave a comment. We LOVE them!

Related posts:

<a
